Yes, even if it is possible to use the AcousModules instruments and processing plugs in a stereo work by mixing their outputs (see the MultiToTwo below), it can be better if they are directly conceived with this purpose.

Contary to the multichannels ones, these plugins work well in evey VST host, but they are specually adapted to modular environments like Audiomuch, Bidule, Console, Cantabile (free), EnergyXT, MaizeStudio (free), VSTHost (free) or Usine (free).

One can eventually use them as insert on the busses of a multitrack recorder or as virtual instrument associated with MIDI tracks. Of course it will work, but their CPU consuption can be rather important and their complexity makes the reproduction of sequences and automations a little bit aleatory.

Each plugin has some gesture controllers that can be driven by the mouse or MIDI gears that allows them to be used as well as on scene in live improvisations than in studi.

Ah yes, I am sorry, but I have no plan for OS X versions : use BootCamp or Parallels !
 

The following plugins can be considered as a mixture between "standard" processors and instruments made for creating sound textures that respond to gestures.

Common features :

The "spatializer" : each sound element (grain, delay output, fragment, filter output…) can be placed individually in the stereophonic field, but it is not all, because it also comprises :
- simulation of the distance on the Y axis (level, attenuation of the high frequencies, reverberation)
- stereo widening parameter
- “megapan” function allowing to move simultaneously all the elements while preserving their relative positions
- two X / Y modulators (15 curves) to animate it.

The MIDI keyboard : up to 64 patches can be changed instantaneously with the mouse or using a MIDI keyboard (in certain cases with a setting of inertia allowing to obtain a progressive transformation between the patches).

The XY gesture pad (except Elasticometre) : controls the principal parameters by space interpolation between several series of settings, parameter of inertia for soft movements or “morphing” effects.

Fully automatable in the host, default assignment of the MIDI controllers numbers to the principal parameters (shown on the GUI).

Tryout versions : no audio or time limits, but with a periodic irritating nag screen...

Granular Time stretcher / Pitch shifter / Slicer-looper

- integrated 16 and 24 bits integrated wav file player
- eight granular processors in series allowing the time-stretching and the pitch-shifting
- two dimensional gesture controllers : size + speed and size + height
- “Detune” function for spread the eight grains over up to 5 octaves
- a modulator with complexes waveforms and dynamic morphing
- two standard modulators, which one can control the morphing parameter of modulator 1
- modulation of the size, speed, height and detuning of the grains as well as the X / Y position of the “megapan”

Multi Delay and modulations

Delay section :
- sixteen parallel delays, up to ten seconds each
- graphical edition of the 16 times and 16 feedbacks values
- three time curves : logarithmic / linear / exponential for easy bounces or echos effects
- global modulation of the times with inertia factor, for smooth or dramatic effects
- individual activation / mute of the 16 delays
- the delays times and feedback values can be stored in six snaphots and recalled xith the XY gesture object
+ “spatializer” and keyboard command

Slicer / granular processor

- 16 and 24 bits stereo files player
- playing in streaming from the disc : no theoretical limit of duration (tested with more than two hour files…)
- slicing of the left and right channels in two times sixteen fragments
- control the speed of splicing by an internal clock, the tempo (host or tap tempo) or MIDI notes
- simple ADSR envelope for the shape of the fragments
- multimode filter
- displacement at variable speed in the file according to ten curves
- random variation of the position, pitch and filtering
Spatializer : twelve memories of independent configurations can be recalled at any time
 Gesture controller section :
- minimum and maximum values for each parameter
- controlled parameters : file position, pitch, filter, speed of the internal clock, envelope Decay and Release
- CPU consumption : medium to high

Mixing and spatial reduction :

- distance simulation (high frequencies damping, reverberation)
- panorama with adjustable widness

Applications : it corresponds to the spatializer section of the former plugins, and allows to use most of the multichannel Acousmodules in a stereo environement.
